Story Behind Mary's Dream
Mary's
Dream began one evening in 1996. My husband and I had just moved our youngest
son Mark to a bedroom downstairs. He said he was afraid so I started looking
around his room for a stuffed animal. But none were to be found. I reached
over and took a statue of Jesus that Mark had by his bed. I told him not
to be afraid because Jesus is always with him and he could pray to Jesus
to overcome his fears.
I
placed it on his pillow and covered up Mark and Jesus with a blanket.
It seemed so natural and it put Mark at ease. I then said "Gee Mark,
I am sorry he is not soft." I couldn't believe what I had just said!
Just minutes before I was looking for a stuffed animal to comfort him!
That
is how the idea for a soft Jesus doll was born.
Mark
still has a Jesus Doll on his bed. It reminds him to say his prayers every
night. I have received many wonderful stories from people who have purchased
my dolls even in the early stages of its development. These stories encouraged
me to keep going because sometimes the road seems so hard.
